If English isn't your native language, don't be upset if others cannot understand you. You will find friends who speak your language as well, but try to use mostly English.

 

Digital Artiste Checklist

There is a lot to take in when it comes to an artiste’s digital world, so here’s a handy 10-point checklist to help you on further.

 

  • What goes online stays online
  • Don’t be afraid to set boundaries and rules, for your personal life and your online life
  • Make the most of the built-in-tools, such as video and sound features on this site
  • Take the time to visit regularly your Black women artistes’ community to update your profile or simply add a comment. This will help you develop and establish your standing in this community
  • Think about how you promote yourself in the real world – it’s important to use the same artiste’s name, so that your audience recognizes you online and offline.
  • Talk to your friends and family about your Black women artistes’ community profile and encourage them to check out your profile. Ask for feedback, this will help you correct any issues that may have cropped up.
  • Upload some good quality and clear photographs that show you at your best
  • Remember that this site is designed for you to help you market and promote yourself. Don’t be put off asking questions from BWA team.
  • When you join the Black Women in the Arts community, we recommend you upgrade immediately to the Celebrity status. The reason, well you want to start as soon as possible to market and promote yourself. Don’t you?
  • It’s important you have your very own website, so don’t think you are saving money. If you are serious about your business get your own website. What’s even better you can link it to your Black Women in the Arts profile; it will help drive traffic to your website.
